Even today, as a not so young lady, I find those words to ring of
truth. :)
The June/July Artist of the Month is one of the (if not THE) funkiest bass guitarist to ever grace the planet! Needless to say, the artist's newest album has definitely changed my mind... :) So, the artist of the month is none other than than the Funk Master... BOOTSY! His latest album "Fresh Outta P University" is the party album of '98. Although currently a German import <grumble grumble> , it is definitely well worth the extra ducketts. Featuring collaborations with artists such as Mtume, MC Lyte, and others this album is a sweet blend of today's music with some very essential funk provided by Mr. Funk, himself! If I had the storage space, I would place excerpts of all the songs I currently have (Thanks, CP! :) ). Making a choice between a very funky "Off Da Hook", the wiggle inducing, " Wind Me Up", the essential funk of, "Funk Ain't Broke", and the hip stirring track "Penetration", was extremely difficult. Alas, Bootsy Baby will definitely move you to the dance floor with ... All selections are from this FANTASTIC album (yeah, I like the album!)
