Whenever I'm asked how my husband and I got together 25 years ago, I simply tell them, "Thomas sang Taj's "Giant Step" (acapella, no doubt) and I fell in love!".  I've been married to Thomas and a Taj fan every since!

I often refer to Taj Mahal as the "keeper of the music" because he has been instrumental in preserving the soul and spirit of people music.  Some may refer to his music as blues, folk, r&b, or whatever.  To me it's the music of the human spirit... people music!  It's a diverse music with many latitudes of rhythms, flavors, harmonies, and soul!  Oh, I could go on forever, so I would strongly recommend visiting his site (listed below).  In fact, I insist upon it!  :)   Before you go, however,  listen to the song that captured my heart and soul!
