"...My name is Me'Shell and I'm a Virgo..."
| If your Me'Shell is that
hard-hitting "If That's Your Boyfriend" bass
playah, "Bitter" may not be your 'cup-o-tea'.
On the other hand, if your Me'Shell is a myriad of musical expression,
then you'll LOVE this fabulous CD... I do! Some have referred to
this album as the "acoustical" Me'Shell despite of a lot of deeply
explosive guitar riffs.
Beginning with the sweetness of the instrumental "Adam", this album is a musical and lyrical exploration into the dynamics of intimate relationships. Naturally, some of those dynamics are difficult to embrace. The lyrics and arrangement of "Fool of Me" and "Bitter" strikes the "broken heart" with a poignant arrow. "Faithful" is honest (as most of Me'Shell's songs are), but I suppose it depends on how one rates honesty... :) Very few people, IMHO, can cover a Jimi Hendrix tune, but this Virgo Lady's cover of "May This Be Love" is as tender, sincere, and excellent as the original! The monster on this album for me Is "Sincerity". I'm told this man resides in my heart, nevertheless, this astounding song brings tears to my eyes overtime and I listen to it constantly. "Loyalty" is another great tune about a couple taking the chance of loving one another. "Beautiful" is another very touching tune which pulls at the old heart strings. "Eve" is a very haunting instrumental demonstrating even more of Me'Shell's musical diversity. Plantation Lullabies' "Outside Your Door" is lyrically evolved in "Wasted Time"... or is it a continuation of the fantasy?... :) The popular tune, "Grace" is worthy of the accolades and air-play, but so is the entire album!
